Roger Staubach was nicknamed “Roger the Dodger“, “Captain America” and “Captain Comeback“….who was an American former football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL)…..as he led America’s Team the Dallas Cowboys for 11 years. 

Roger the Dodger attended the U.S. Naval Academy…..where he won the 1963 Heisman Trophy….and after graduation he served in the U.S. Navy, including a tour of duty in Vietnam…..after which he joined the  Dallas Cowboys in 1969….and played with the club during all 11 seasons of his career…..when he led the team to the Super Bowl five times…..having led the Cowboys to victories in Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII……and was named Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl VI….while becoming the first of four players to win both the Heisman Trophy, and Super Bowl MVP….along with Jim Plunkett, Marcus Allen, and Desmond Howard.  He was named to the Pro Bowl six times during his 11-year NFL career.

He never left the state ! Number 2, He was as famous in the city of Chicago in HS as he is now with all NFL fans !!O’yea, he has been married to his HS girl friend now for over 50 years.
