NFL – 1985 – AFC Divisional Playoffs – Los Angeles Raiders Vs New England Patriots – 4th Qtr

DOG ASIDE:   

This 1985 AFC Divisional Playoff Game between the Los Angeles Raiders and the New England Patriots featured four future NFL Hall of Fame Members….with the Raiders having DE Howie Long and CB Mike Haynes….while the Patriots had G John Hannah and LB Andre Tippett…..as the Raiders finished 12 – 4 on the season….while the Pats finished with a record of 11 – 5.

Running Back Marcus Allen earned the 1985 league MVP…..after starting all 16 games….while rushing the ball 380 times for 1,759 yards with an average of 109 yards/game and scoring 11 rushing touchdowns ….with his longest reception being 61 yards….while receiving 67 passes for an average of 8.3 yards/catch and scoring 3 TDs….with his longest being 44 yards….and he also completed 2 of 2 passes for 32 yards for zero touchdowns.The 1985 Raiders had four players make it to the Pro Bowl….including RB Marcus Allen, TE Todd Christensen, CB Mike Haynes and DE Howie Long.   

The score at the end of the 3rd Quarter was Patriots 27 Raiders 20….as a defensive battle ensued in the 4th Quarter as seen in this video herewith
