NFL – 1985 – CBS Halftime Show – NFC Championship – Bears Vs Giants – With Brent Musburger


This CBS Halftime Show of the 1985 NFC Championship Game between the Chicago Bears verses the New York Giants features the NFL Today broadcast crew of Brent Musburger, Dan Dierdorf and Irv Cross….along with game commentators Pat Summerall and John Madden….with special guest Jack Buckner of the Los Angeles Rams…..who was scouting these two divisional playoff teams…..since they would be playing the winner the following week. 

If you stop to think about it….within this 1985 CBS Sports broadcasting crew were three legends of sports broadcasting including Brent Musburger…..who announced his retirement as a sports broadcasting after an incredible career that spanned 50 years since his 1st live telecast in 1968…..then there was Dan Dierdorf….who is not only a College and Pro Football Hall of Fame Member, but has been a lead sports broadcaster on CBS, ABC, ESPN and Michigan University for the better part of 33 years….and the 3rd member of the NFL Today team, Irv Cross….had a 10 year NFL career….a 27 year broadcasting career on live national television….plus being the CEO of the Minnesota Big Brothers Big Sisters from 1998 to 2010.

When you consider that the NFL Today team of Musburger, Dierdorf and Cross were anchored by the legendary game broadcast team of Pat Summerall and John Madden…..whom we at ImaSportsphile to be the best team to ever enter the booth for an NFL broadcast….then you understand why any time you get to watch 5 legends of sports broadcasting practicing their mastery of the trade….it becomes MUST SEE TV….like this video herewith.
