NFL Highlights – 1984 New York Giants VS Philadelphia Eagles

DOG COMMENTARY:

\Tthe year 1978 was a year of incredible feats…..with awesome displays of athleticism….filled with unbelievable plays that create totally unexpected ooutcomes…cuz there is Super Bowl XII when the Dallas Cowboys won 27-10 over the Denver Broncos….The Holy Roller Imacullate Deception Game between the Oakland Raiders vs San Diego Chargers….the Football World Cup win by Diego Maradonna’s Argentina….after extra time….over Holland….Pete Rose of the Cincinnati Reds becoming the 13th player in Major League history to collect 3,000 career hitsand then from June 14-July 31 hitting safely in 44 consecutive games by tying Willie Keeler’s all-time National League hitting streak….the Washington Bullets winning 4 games to 3 over the Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA Finals….Duke losing to Kentucky in the NCAAM basketball championship….Leon Spinks defeating Muhammad Ali by decision in 15 rounds to win the world heavyweight title, then on September 15th Ali once again made history by beating Leon Spinks by decision in their rematch….the Tour de France being won for the 1st of what would eventually be five title by France’s Bernard Hinault….the British Open Golf won by Jack Nicklaus while Gary Player won The Masters….as Stevie Cauthen rode Affiermed to The Triple Crown circle of champions…. the  Montreal Canadiens defeating the Boston Bruins…. as A J Foyt wins final season championship under USAC….while Bjorn Borg wins the French Open and Wimbledon, Jimmy Conners wins US Open, Martina Navratilova wins Wimbledon and Chris Evert wins US Open….with theAssociated Press Female Athlete of the Year being Nancy Lopez, LPGA golf…while NY Yankees pitcher Ron Guidry was the AP Male Athlete of the Year….and the fact is that in all that it took to win those championsabove and accomplish all that they did…..there was simply nothing that compared…..and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that happened in 1978….will be remembered quite like The Miricale at the Meadowlands on the last play of the NFL game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles….for this play will be shown on NFL programs and talked about in “smoke-filled” bars….for as long as there is pro football.
