This video gives the viewer an inside look at American athletes training for the Olympic Modern Pentathlon at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX…..for it was decided in 1955….by the Department of Defense….that the Army Base at Ft. Sam (that’s what we Texans call it) would become the national training center for this Olympic sport. The pentathlon embodies all the disciplines that a great soldier needs to excel at in order to be America’s finest….shooting, fencing, swimming, riding and running…..as the pentathlon is one of the toughest sports to master…..cuz each discipline is so different.
