Karen Elizabeth Stives was an American equestrian eventing competitor and Olympic champion….who qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team….but like 461 other USA Olympic Team athletes…did not compete due to the unfortunate decision of President Jimmy Carter …..who chose to mix politics into sports….and dictated to the U.S. Olympic Committee that our Team boycott the 1980 Moscow Olympics…..which proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that The Worst Tics Are Poli-Tics to those of us here at ImaSportsphile.
At the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games…..Karen Stives and Ben Arthur anchored the United States team that received a gold medal in Team eventing…..as they also won an individual silver medal…..which allowed them to have a second chance at achieving their Olympic dreams.
Simply put, there is NO PLACE in sports for poli-Tics….cuz that kind of Tic sucks the good blood out of sports…..and replaces it with BAD BLOOD.
