This video features ABC’s legendary sportscaster Frank Gifford introducing the winning toss of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games track and field women’s shot put competition….tossed by West Germany’s Claudia Losch….for this was an Olympics that had an East German National Team (DDR) ….and a West German National Team (FRG)…..as Losch tossed for FRG. 

Claudia Losch (born 10 January 1960) is a retired German shot putter….who won gold in 1984 in Los Angeles….while placing fifth at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games….plus she is also the 1989 World Indoor Champion….and Losch won the European Indoor title three times. Claudia Losch won the German indoor championship in the shot put in 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988 and 1989. She won the German championship from 1982 through 1990, nine times in a row.  Any time an athlete dominates their sport for the better part of 10 years in a country like West Germany…..then you are a legend in your sport in your country….and we at ImaSportsphile are delighted to have The wold medal winning toss of shot putter Claudia Losch.
