This video starts off with ABC late night host broadcasters Jim Lampley and Donna de Varona bringing the night’s final overview of what happened on this day….and what to look forward too on the next day at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics….but the real joy for this lil ole chiweenie sportsphile on this video….was the men’s basketball medal ceremony…..and getting to watch Michael Jordan, Chris Mullin, Joe Kleine, Steve Alford and the rest of the Americans proudly singing the National Anthem as it was being played….and then the team hoisting up Coach Bobby Knight to carry him off the court.
This great all amateur US team never lost a game….not to the pros….and not in the Olympics….for this was the greatest amateur basketball team ever assembled in Olympic history.
