Steve McCrory (April 13, 1964 – August 1, 2000, both in Detroit, Michigan) was an American boxer….who won the Flyweight gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics….while a year earlier he had won a bronze medal at the 1983 Pan American Games….he was the 1982 and 1983 United States Amateur flyweight champion. In winning his gold medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Games he 1st defeated Tad Joseph (Grenada) in a walkover…..followed by defeating Fausto Garcia (Mexico) RSC 1….following with this fight featured here today with Peter Ayesu (Malawi) whom he defeated 5 – 0….then he defeated Eyup Can (Turkey) 5-0….followed by his defeat of Redzep Redzepovski (Yugoslavia) 4-1 in the gold medal fight.
