Steve McCrory (April 13, 1964 – August 1, 2000) was an American boxer….who won the Flyweight Gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. A year earlier he won a bronze medal at the 1983 Pan American Games. During the Los Angeles Olympics….McCrory had five fights on his way to winning the gold medal as follows…..1st, he defeated Tad Joseph (Grenada) in a walkover (his opponent did not show up to fight)…..his 2nd was against Fausto Garcia (Mexico) with a 1st round TKO….his 3rd fight was this fight on this video….as he defeated Peter Ayesu of Malawi 5 – 0…..whereas his 4th fight was with Turkey’s Eyup Can….whom he defeated 5 – 0…..and his gold medal fight was a defeat of Redzep Redzepovski of Yugoslavia in a 4-1 decision.
