By the time the men’s springboard diving finals reached the final dive at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics….USA Greg Louganis had an insurmountable lead for the gold medal of almost 70 points…..that is how good this man was…..but the real race was for silver and bronze….with only 0.21 points separating CHN Tan Liangue with 582.33 pts vs USA Ron Merriott with 582.12 pts going into their last dive.
