Olympics – 1984 Los Angeles – Diving – Womens Springboard Prelims

DOG ASIDE:

The Women’s 3m Springboard event at the 1984 Summer Olympics was held August 5–6, 1984 at the Olympic Swim Stadium in Los Angeles, USA.  It was one of four diving events on the Games….as the competition was split into two phases….including the Preliminary round (5 August)…where the divers performed ten dives….with the twelve divers with the highest scores advancing to the finals on August 6th…..where the divers performed another set of ten dives…..with the score here obtained determining the final ranking…..with the gold medal going to Canada’s Sylvie Bernier…..with the silver being won by USA’s Kelly McCormick (daughter of prior Olympic champion mother Pat McCormick)….with the bronze being won by Christina Seufert of the USA.
