DOG COMMENTARY:
The pole vault competition at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics was a battle between two Americans….Earl Bell & Mike Tulley…..and two Frenchman….Thierry Vigneron & Pierre Quinon….as each were world record holders….and breakers for that matter….within the 12 months leading up to The Games. Tulley is facing his third and final attempt at 18 ft. 6 1/2 in…..just to stay in the competition…..a man who in practice just the week before this competition clear 19 ft with a half run….was facing elimination in his preparation for this jump.
ABC’s Al Michaels and Dwight Stones do a great job of providing great coverage and insightful information…..as this lil ole Chiweenie kinda likes that “high jumping boy” Dwight Stones….cuz I think he is a very good color commentator of any jumping event…..due to his understanding of the co-ordination of speed and strength required to put oneself in a position to safely clear the bar that is close to 20 feet in the air…..for it is my opinion that he knows what he is talking about…..cuz that tall, lanky, cute….jumping boy could flat out jump himself.
