Carl Lewis is an American former track and field athlete….who won 10 Olympic medals including nine gold….and 10 World Championships medals including eight gold. His career spanned from 1979 to 1996 when he last won an Olympic title and subsequently retired. Bone Daddy saw Carl run the 100 m and broad jump at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics….and I have written several stories about the historic achievements of Carl Lewis….as BD calls his one of the greatest athletes he has ever seen perform live. His third gold medal came in the 200 m….where he won in a time of 19.80….a new Olympic record and the third fastest time in history. Bone Daddy called Lewis a gazelle in a man’s suit….as his speed was undeniable….and his leaping ability was unbelievable…..as he dominated the sport of broad jump for over 10 years.
Just watch this man run this 200 meter race….and tell me you don’t see a graceful gazelle speeding down the track!?!
