Olympics – 1984 Los Angeles – Womens Marathon – Part 4 – The 26 Mile Mark

DOG ASIDE:

As Joan Benoit passed the 26 mile mark and headed to the Los Angeles Coliseum for the final lap in the first ever women’s Olympic marathon…..running the 3rd fastest women’s marathon of all time…..the Los Angeles Olympic crowd of 93,607 spectators rose to their feet…..providing a standing ovation that reached epic proportions by the time she crossed the finish line…..and the euphoria of USA fans everywhere had reached a boiling point….and was spewing around Los Angeles at that moment.
