Pro Wrestling – 1985 – WWF All Star Wrestling – Bobby The Brain Keenum + Gorilla Monson

DOG COMMENTARY:

When this video rolled up in the cue to be posted…..it brought back a wonderful memory of the days of Madison Square Garden, The Sports Place….which was Bone Daddy’s place located at 302 E. 6th Street in downtown Austin, Texas….where on March 31, 1985….MSG showcased the original production of Wrestlemania 1….when Bone Daddy’s bar set the record for paid attendance for a live closed-circuit TV event in the 20 year history of his sports bar….as 1039 wrestling fans paid $20/head to see the heralded tag-team match with WWF World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan and his partner, Mr.T, taking on Rowdy Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff

The financial and critical success of the event secured the company’s status as the most successful promotion in the United States….while rising above competitors such as the National Wrestling Alliance and American Wrestling Association….as it opened the door to Bone Daddy’s sports bar becoming the venue for all major closed circuit events that followed over the next half-dozen years.

This WWF All Star Wrestling program featured two legendary announcers of professional wrestling…. Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby The Brain Keenum…..who were always a show within the show….with a fight card that heatured Billy Jack Hanes, The Body Shop, the tag team of Tito Santana and Pedro Morales, Junk Yard Dog and the tag team of Mike Rotundo and Danny Spivey…..and as with all WWF events….this program is full of fun and excitement….and well worth the watch.
