Although I spent almost 5 years at the University of Texas, Austin from 1965 to 1970….and since I had to work to put my way through The University…..I did not have any money to spend on sports memorabilia….and if there had not been heavily reduced “student ticket prices” from the normal ticket prices for University of Texas sporting events, I would have never been able to afford to see the Longhorns play in any competitions. 

So, the bulk of this University of Texas memorabilia collection….along with the entire 140+/- Longhorns videos included in the price of this sale, was acquired after I was instrumental in the opening of Madison Square Garden, The Sports Place, at 302 E. 6th Street in downtown Austin, Texas….of which I was the Managing Partner for the 17 years that it was open from 1975 to 1991.  Since serving sports, libations, beer and food was my business for the better part of two decades….then attending live sporting events and purchasing souvenirs of those events was a business write-off….since every item purchased was displayed in my sports bar….for that is when I started attending live sporting events on a regular and continuum basis….and over 17 years, I acquire the majority of sports paraphernalia that is for sale in the products section here at ImaSportsphile….not to mention, the entire video content that appears on this web page….and is part of each product for sale herewith.
