La Selección (Argentine national team)….also known as the Albicelestes (sky blue and whites)….has appeared in five World Cup finals….including the first final in 1930….which they lost 4–2 to Uruguay….then Argentina won in their next final appearance in 1978 by beating the Netherlands at extra time, 3–1……which was followed by their next World Cup championship as Argentina was led by Diego Maradona to a 3-2 win over West Germany in 1986…..as they again made the World Cup finals in 1990….losing 1–0 to West Germany….following a controversial penalty call in the 87th minute….then Argentina made their fifth appearance in a World Cup final in 2014….where they again lost to the Germans in a score of 1–0 in extra-time.
The Brazil national football team (Portuguese: Seleção Brasileira de Futebol) represents Brazil in international men’s association football….as Brazil is administered by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF)….which is the governing body for football in Brazil…..as they have been a member of the FIFA since 1923 and member of the CONMEBOL since 1916. Brazil is the most successful national football team in international competition….winning the FIFA World Cup championships five time in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002.
