Tennis – 1986 – Wimbledon Men’s Finals – Ivan Lendl VS Boris Becker

DOG COMMENTARY:

The 1986 Wimbledon Championships played at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London in England was the 100th edition of the Wimbledon Championships…which  were held from June 23 to July 6, 1986….and in recognition of the 100th championship….the two oldest living Wimbledon singles champions were invited to present the singles championship trophies….as Jean Borotra presented the gentlemen’s singles and Kitty Godfree presented the ladies’….as both were alongside the President of the All England Club and his wife….and their Royal Highnesses’ The Duke and Duchess of Kent.

Boris Becker successfully defended his title by defeating Ivan Lendl in the final, 6–4, 6–3, 7–5 to win the Gentlemen’s Singles tennis title at the 1986 Wimbledon Championships….as this was when Boris Becker was at his very best….young, strong, powerful, aggressive and dang near dominating over a really good effort by Ivan Lendl….a multiple Wimbledon champion in his own right.

This is classic tennis by two really outstanding champions….which is being covered shot by shot by two legends of televised tennis broadcasting…..Bud Collins and Dick Enberg….whom the sports world lost last December…..which makes this video more than worth the watch.
