This video showcases tv commercials for promoting Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update News with Jane Curtin…..along with a spot for Bill Munday Pontiac of Austin, Texas that follows…..as Bill Munday is still alive and well on South Lamar in Austin today in 2019…..then comes a commercial for T A Station Bar & Restaurant in Austin…..which didn’t make it out of the 1980’s staying in business….and this was followed by a movie promo forAlmost Summer….a 1978 film directed by Martin Davidson, and produced by Motown Productions for Universal Pictures….which was the only Motown theatrical feature not to center on African-American characters…..and though it was not successful at the box office….the film has since acquired a certain degree of historical importance because many observers consider it to be the first of a series of distinctive “youth genre” films….of which more prominent examples include Fast Times at Ridgemont High and The Breakfast Club.
