
In our TV ADS section here at ImaSportsphile…..we have a significant number of tv commercials for movies that were coming to theaters near you….like Warlords of Atlantis….as seen in this video herewith….which was a 1978 British science fiction/fantasy film directed by Kevin Connor and starring Doug McClure, Peter Gilmore, Shane Rimmer, and Lea Brodie…..with a plot that was about a trip to the lost world of Atlantis. The screenplay was by Brian Hayles…..and was filmed in color with monaural sound and English dialogue that ran for 96 minutes. Warlords of Atlantis received a Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rating of PG.
The Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company was an American brewery based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin….who was once the largest producer of beer in the United States….with its namesake beer, Schlitz, being known as “The beer that made Milwaukee famous”….which was advertised with the slogan “When you’re out of Schlitz, you’re out of beer”. Schlitz first became the largest beer producer in the US in 1902 and enjoyed that status at several points during the first half of the 20th century….while exchanging the title with Anheuser-Busch multiple times during the 1950’s.
Volkswagen’s range of cars soon became similar to that of other large European automakers in the late 1970’s….and the Golf had been the mainstay of the Volkswagen lineup since its introduction….while being the mechanical basis for several other cars of the company. There have been seven generations of the Volkswagen Golf…..with the first of which was produced from the summer of 1974 until the autumn of 1983….and sold as the Rabbit in the United States and Canada and as the Caribe in Latin America.
Dr Pepper is a carbonated soft drink. It was created in the 1880s by pharmacist Charles Alderton in Waco, Texas…..and first served around 1885…..while being first nationally marketed in the United States in 1904. As seen in this video herewith….the ad campaign with the slogan “I’m a Pepper….you’re a Pepper. so wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper too?”….. was one of Dr. Pepper’s most successful ever.
