TV Ads – 1980 – Lucite Paint + Peanuts Charlie Brown And Snoopy For MetLife Insurance

DOG COMMENTARY:

Two of the most loved characters in the USA of all time are Charlie Brown and Snoopy from the comic strip Peanuts….and no one understood this more than the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company….who began using this Dynamic Duo for their advertising campaigns in 1950….and decided just this year in 2018 to drop Charles Schultz’s comic strip characters as their “pitch people” for their insurance products….after nearly 70 years of being the face of the company.

Met Life will never again look the same to the buying public…..and only time will tell if this change in their advertising pitch will embrace as many insurance clients as Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Peanuts characters brought to the table….and even if so….we at ImaSportsphile doubt whether the new faces of the company’s marketing will be as beloved as those which Schultz drew for so many years.

All that being said….we at ImaSportsphile now consider these TV ads featuring the Peanuts Gang for Met Life have overnight become “nuggets of gold” in our treasure chest of vintage memories here on our website….and all we can say is ENJOY!!!
