TV Ads – 1980 – NBC Promo For Supertrain + Pearl Light Beer + K 98 FM Disco Radio + Los Tres Boboz Mexican Restaurant Of Austin

Supertrain is an American television drama/adventure series that ran on NBC from February 7 to May 5, 1979….as 9 episodes were made….including a 2-hour pilot episode….as the series took place on the Supertrain….a nuclear-powered bullet train….that was equipped with amenities more appropriate to a cruise ship….as it had luxuries such as swimming pools, shopping centers, a gym, library, medical center….and a discotheque….and much like its contemporary The Love Boat, the plots concerned the passengers’ social lives, usually with multiple intertwining storylines.  Supertrain was described in a 1979 Variety review, “It’s a ‘Love Boat’ on wheels which has yet to get on track.”

The Pearl Brewing Company was an American brewery….which was established in 1883 in downtown San Antonio, Texas….when in 1985, Pearl’s parent company purchased the Pabst Brewing Company….and assumed the Pabst name….but the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio was closed in 2001.

KHFI-FM is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Georgetown, Texas….while serving the Greater Austin radio market….which is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc…..and it airs a Top 40 (CHR) radio format, branded as “KISS-FM.” It shares studios and offices with other iHeart stations in the Penn Field complex in the South Congress district (or “SoCo”) of south central Austin.
