DOG ASIDE:
Long before the “Energizer Bunny” was moving all around and beating its drum…there was the “Duracell Dog”….who was a mechanical dog….who loved to startle and scare cats of all types. The Duracell Company was founded in 1924….which eventually became a part of the huge conglomerate. Proctor + Gamble….and was sold to Berkshire Hathaway in 2014….at a time when they had $2 billion in annual sales.
Peerless Faucets is a subsidiary of Masco Corporation….which was founded in 1929 as a manufacturer of products for the home improvement and new home construction markets….as the huge conglomerate operates nearly 60 manufacturing facilities in the United States and over 20 in other parts of the world…. with annual sales of nearly $8 billion.
Sugar’s Men’s Club of Austin has been one of the most successful nightclubs in Austin, Texas since 1978….as it was the original “upscale strip club”….that loved to feature a lunchtime buffet of “great steaks and beautiful women”. Bone Daddy says that Sugar’s was the top liquor sales club in Austin for the 20 years that his sports bar was in existence.
And who could forget the original Yellow Pages ad “Let Your Fingers Do The Walking”….as the Yellow Pages came to life as the telephone directory of businesses….which was organized by category rather than alphabetically by business name….in which advertising is sold. The directories were originally printed on yellow paper….as opposed to white pages for non-commercial listings. OH, how the “information highway” has ruined so many businesses….cuz you just don’t see as many Yellow Page books being delivered in the neighborhoods in 2018..
