TV Ads – 1984 – AT&T Fiber Optics & Sprite Soda

DOG ASIDE:

AT&T is the granddaddy of them all….who grew into a monopoly in the telecommunications industry….and went through the government breaking them into smaller entities….to which they have now grown back to basically where they were before their break-up.

This is a company that has had more changes than a runway model…..mergers and aquisitions…..law suits and fraud cases….than just about any other company in American history….but, all along the way….AT&T commercials were visible all over television for as long as we at ImaSportsphile can remember….and this particular commercial is about their new technology in 1984….AT&T Fiber Optics…. the wave of the future.

Sprite is a colorless, caffeine-free, lemon and lime-flavored soft drink created by The Coca-Cola Company….which was first developed in West Germany in 1959 as Fanta Klare Zitrone (“Clear Lemon Fanta”)….and was introduced in the United States under the current brand name Sprite in 1961…. as a competitor to 7 Up…..whereas bottles of Sprite are usually a transparent green color with a green and yellow label….but cans are colored silver, green, and blue….with aluminum bottles being colored a solid lime green. Though often confused with Lemonade…..Sprite stands in separate class of carbonated soft drink, except in Australia and New Zealand, where it is lemonade.
