TV Ads – 1986 – MLB Great Yaz For Miller High Life Beer + Jeep Wrangler Vehicles + Kemper Open Golf

The Miller Brewing Company is an American beer brewing company headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin….which was owned until October 11, 2016 by the MillerCoors division of the SABMiller–Molson Coors joint venture. The company has brewing facilities in Albany, Georgia…Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin ….Fort Worth, Texas….Irwindale, California….Milwaukee, Wisconsin….and Trenton, Ohio.  On July 1, 2008, Miller formed MillerCoors, a joint venture with rival Molson Coors to consolidate the production and distribution of its products in the United States,….ith each parent company’s corporate operations and international operations to remain separate and independent of the joint venture.

The Jeep Wrangler is a series of compact and mid-size (Wrangler Unlimited and Wrangler 4-door JL) four-wheel drive off-road vehicle models…which have been manufactured by Jeep since 1986….as seen in this video herewith….and currently in its fourth generation. The Wrangler JL was unveiled in late 2017….which  will be produced at Jeep’s Toledo Complex.  The Wrangler is arguably an indirect progression from the World War II Jeep….through the CJ (Civilian Jeeps) produced by Willys, Kaiser-Jeep and American Motors Corporation (AMC) from the mid-1940’s through 1980’s.  Although neither AMC nor Chrysler (after its purchase of AMC in 1987) have claimed that the Wrangler was a direct descendant of the original military model….both the CJ Jeeps and the conceptually consistent Wrangler….with their solid axles and open top….have been called the Jeep model as central to Jeep’s brand identity as the rear-engine 911 is to Porsche.

The Booz Allen Classic was a regular golf tournament on the PGA Tour from 1968 to 2006…and perhaps more so than any other “regular” PGA Tour stop….the event wandered about, not just from course to course within a given metropolitan area….but along the East Coast. Originally known as the Kemper Open….the inaugural event was played in 1968 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Mass. before moving to the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina the following year….where it stayed through 1979…..as the event moved in 1980 to Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb northwest of Washington, D.C…..and to TPC at Avenel in 1987 in neighboring Potomac.
