TV Ads – 1986 – Sumo Wrestlers For Dodge Colt Cars + All State Insurance

DOG ASIDE:

The Dodge Colt were subcompact cars manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors and marketed by Dodge for model years 1971-1994 as captive imports. Badge engineered variants included the Plymouth Champ and Plymouth Colt, marketed by Plymouth.  The Colt was initially a rebadged variant of the rear-wheel drive Galant and Lancer families before shifting to the smaller front-wheel drive Mitsubishi Mirage subcompacts in 1979.

The Allstate Corporation is one of the largest insurance providers in the United States….and one of the largest that is publicly held….for a company that also has personal lines insurance operations in Canada. Allstate was founded in 1931 as part of Sears, Roebuck and Co…..and was spun off in 1993….as the company has had its headquarters in Northfield Township, Illinois, near Northbrook since 1967. Its current advertising campaign, in use since 2004, asks, “Are you in good hands?”….with  corporate spokesperson is Dennis Haysbert.
