TV Ads – 1986 – US Marine Corps + Actor Mark Harmon For Coors Beer

The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is a branch of the United States Armed Forces ….which are responsible for conducting expeditionary and amphibious operations with the United States Navy predominantly….as well as the Army and Air Force. 

The history of the Marine Corps began when two battalions of Continental Marines were formed on 10 November 1775 in Philadelphia…..as a service branch of infantry troops capable of fighting both at sea and on shore….who in the Pacific theater of World War II the Corps took the lead in a massive campaign of amphibious warfare….while advancing from island to island.  

As of 2017, the USMC has around 186,000 active duty members and some 38,500 personnel in reserve.

The Coors Brewing Company is a regional division of the world’s third-largest brewing company, the Molson Coors Brewing Company…..as Coors operates a brewery in Golden, Colorado….that is the largest single brewery facility in the world.

Mark Harmon is an American television and film actor….who has appeared in a wide variety of roles since the early 1970’s….after initially achieving fame as a college football player….then his role on St. Elsewhere led to his being named “Sexiest Man Alive” by People Magazine in 1986. After spending the majority of the 1990’s as a character actor….he discovered newfound fame for his portrayal of Secret Service special agent Simon Donovan in The West Wing….when during the better part of the 1980’s….Harmon was the main “pitch man” for Coors Beer….as seen in this video herewith.
