Volleyball – 1980 – NCAA Mens National Finals – Game 5 – UCLA Vs USC – With Steve Zabriske

DOG ASIDE:

The 1980 NCAA Men’s Volleyball Tournament was the 11th annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA men’s college volleyball. The tournament was played at Irving Gymnasium in Muncie, Indiana during May 1980….when USC defeated UCLA in the final matchby 3–1 (15–7, 6–15, 15–13, 15–8) to win their second national title. This was a rematch of the previous year’s final…which was won by UCLA. The Trojans (22–6) were coached by Ernie Hix….and USC’s Dusty Dvorak was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.

Until the creation of the NCAA Men’s Division III Volleyball Championship in 2012….there was only a single national championship for men’s volleyball….as such, all NCAA men’s volleyball programs…. whether from Division I, Division II, or Division III were all eligible.
