TV Ads – 1979 – Ch 36 News Baby Boomer Babies + Yellow Rose Texas Nightclub + Diet Pepsi Soda

DOG COMMENTARY:

KXAN Channel 36 Austin starts off this video with a TV program promo of a special that the channel ran shortly thereafter this commercial was aired….promoting a story about the numbers of Baby Boomer Babies being brought into the world as the Baby Boomer Generation began getting productive in the reproduction arena. 

The Yellow Rose Texas Gentlemen’s Club was the best known and most successful “strip club” in the whole of Austin for neigh on three decades….as they held the top spot for liquor sales in Austin for over 23 years….and were well known for their great steaks and beautiful women. 

Diet Pepsi is a zero-calorie carbonated cola soft drinks produced by PepsiCo….after being introduced in 1964 as a variant of Pepsi-Cola with no sugar….which was 1st test marketed in 1963 under the name Patio Diet Cola….and was re-branded as Diet Pepsi the following year….thus becoming the first diet cola to be distributed on a national scale in the United States.  In the 1960’s and 1970’s its competition consisted of Tab, produced by The Coca-Cola Company….and Diet Rite soda, produced by Royal Crown….when Diet Coke was a later entrant to the diet cola market….while shortly after entering production in 1982…as it became the primary competing diet cola to Diet Pepsi.
