A Sportsphile Chiweenie Welcomes All Yankee Fans To Bone Daddy’s Yankees Collection

DOG ASIDE:

The 1933 Goudey New York Yankees Earl Combs Big League Chewing Gum baseball card….is the oldest card that Bone Daddy has in his Yankees card collection….which provides a really good introduction to my original Sportsphile’s love of the Boys from the Bronx….so, welcome to the section of the museum dedicated to our beloved New York Yankees.

Writing about the Yankees is really easy and fun for me to do….cuz BD had a 38 year run of being a serious Yankee fan…evidenced by his 2500 pieces of Yankee collectibles. If you take the time to read all the stories that I write about the Yankees….now and in the future….you will see a whole bunch of original Yankee baseball player cards posted within the pages of my prose…,from dang near every season and every team….beginning with the 1949 Yanks….and carrying forward year by year to the 1987 Yanks. During this period of Bone Daddy’s collection….the Yankees won 17 American League Titles……10 World Series Championships….sending 14 players….4 managers / executives….and 5 broadcasters….all who wore pinstripes or bled for the Yanks during this period…were all sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Combined within the information on these cards alone….literally lies the history of the New York Yankees for almost 4 full decades….for it was truly the Golden Age of Baseball….a time which was ruled by “the Boys from the Bronx”.

There is not an American “Baby Boomer” man….and many women….who grew up loving and playing baseball in America during the post World War II years….a time when baseball was truly America’s National Pastime….that while looking at this incredible array of baseball cards….looking at the actual card that you anxiously anticipated whose card was behind that awesome sheet of bubblegum…..won’t bring back wonderful memories when of when they were kids….playing catch with their Dads….crackin peanuts at a game sitting next to Granpa….while listening to them teach you about the intricacies and nuances of the glorious game of baseball.

I have no section in this museum that provides a better “walk down memory lane” than my Yankee section…..cuz love them or hate them…..there is no cornerstone of sports more solid and historic than the New York Yankees….plus my stories are a great read.
